This was an interesting conversation. Blessed to have met my wife long before dating apps arrived on the scene. Had no idea bumble was also focusing on friendship and building IRL connections. @dwr.eth you might find some value in this conversation, especially starting at 26 min mark - re quality users, AI, and output measurements. Whole conversation covers her journey and a pivot of sorts to go beyond dating matches cc @ted too https://open.spotify.com/episode/1nJDWBz8RFORZar3lbuvyx?si=_T3SYzOIQTCxpP7aveHTtA

Saying “blessed I didn’t have to deal with dating apps” is a status flex to me — although I know not your explicit intent, nor the intent of the host who also says this — I hear “so glad I’m not one of THOSE poor LOSERS, Ha Ha!” every time

I know of more women who met friends on bumble on the “friend side” of the app than boyfriends/husbands on the “dating side” Honestly I don’t know anybody who got into an actual relationship on bumble, whereas I know a lot of people now in relationships or married that met on tinder (2014-2017 ish) or Hinge (imo by far the best product)

the $BMBL chart reflects to me the reality that they have "bumbled" the entire opportunity, and created an opening for a whole new type of 'app' in dating. I honestly think these companies have lost the opportunity, but I am feeling compelled to give this a listen, thanks Brix
