Scallions have entered the chat.

Just a preview harvest today.  

We’ll give ‘em another week to size up and then start daily harvests into the fall.

These are Parade, our long-standing favorite variety of scallions or “green onions”

Growing veggies for the fine folks of Southeastern Massachusetts, w/ a focus on nutrient quality. Always interested in the evolution of digital payments.  🎩 

Do you stagger planting to have daily harvests until the fall? Or do you allow some to grow longer?

Succession planting to ensure optimum quality for our customers and our harvest rhythms.

We’ll do 6 plantings of scallions this year.

Number 3 planted 10 days back (pictured), number 4 growing in the greenhouse.

We’ve switched to 2 rows per bed, which allow us to hill & sidedress which extends each plantings harvest window.  

Each planting 120-240 bed feet which will yield ~3 bunches per bed foot.
