i think you can teach kids to temporarily retain enough information to pass tests. but that isn’t too important here. assuming the class was at all formative, and kids somehow internalized the lessons (i honestly don’t remember anything from public school), people don’t vote based purely on facts; emotion, identity, and tribalism often override reason.

the idea is to give them the ability to think critically. Skills will be retained better than just specific facts or literature.
