Broadway is a street in Brooklyn that I would have loved to shoot when I studied photo but could have been shot at in the process.

While in NY, I only really felt safe in Greenpoint, Williamsburg and Dumbo areas of Brooklyn while staying along the J line. I think I’m mostly on edge because of the shooting I saw at Utica, it really is an adjustment coming from Canada.

Going back to Broadway, I had a big interest in documenting city infrastructure, especially the decline of highways and elevated expressways. But before that, it was the rail lines that started this movement in urban development. Pictured: the one and only Broadway Junction

The area you were staying in was particularly rough. 😞 A friend got stabbed to death over there a couple of years ago and someone tried to mug me there recently.

I stayed in Bushwick twice and really enjoyed it. Can't remember any weird situations there. Along Myrtle Ave, but also walked along Broadway couple times
