from `npx @neynar/create-farcaster-mini-app` I'd prefer to generate some other key than posting my seed phrase into a .env.local

Yeah, I only have one FC account and I don’t want to make another one and I don’t want to put my Brenner.Esther account seed phrase anywhere but the very safe place I store my passwords

You can skip the manifest signing in that case, it’s an optional step It doesn’t make sense to sign with a seed that doesn’t have a fc accounts. It’s the same as not signing it

I want my seed phrase to generate a single private key within the Warpcast app and then use that private key here, not my whole seed phrase @bob had a great idea, where it shows a QR code that you scan w your phone and it open Warpcast app and asks if you want to share a key that gets written to your .env.local

@brenner.eth I agree with the problem of not wanting to put the seed phrase there. We tried not to put it in .env but it was needed so that we can handle domain changes much more seamlessly. We also made sure to add the env file to gitignore in the template to prevent mistaken leaks. We’ll look into other solutions with the Merkle team. For now, the alternative is to generate the manifest signature from Warpcast’s developer tool on the mobile app and paste that in to your mini app codebase.

Following back up here - why doesn’t a specific key generated from your seed phrase work? Warpcast the app have access to the seed phrase, it can/should generate something. Have the seed phrase’s key sign a message, not have to copy the whole seed phrase
