I always wonder if RCs matter for the feed. 

I think that is why QCing feels more natural, at least to me.

My take has always been the RCs are just a high signal of good/great content to help the algo but has no other real effect

yup. that's the reason to qc...more than signal... I want my people and others to see this

absolutely the same feeling!

but sometimes if I want something to hit my feed it would be nice to know it could at least help that cast reach the feed, rather than a relatively low-impact QC
