Hot take, loosely held... We don't need micro tipping on FC. Blockchain needs micro transactions for international payments, but Farcaster needs a way to tip great content $3-$5 so that 5-8 people tip & creator makes $15-$20, not $0.33 Not a knock at all on @noiceapp @tipn & others! Appreciate what they are doing & I'm watching & learning. Open to correction--'loosely held'

I agree with you but it also seems completely unrealistic to ask people to tip $50-100 a week - don’t get me wrong I’d love to be on the receiving end of that but I couldn’t ever reciprocate without some sort of crypto UBI and even then i suspect you’d just be tipping out whatever you earned for net zero

Agreed. I'm not thinking people tip that much. I'm thinking that certain content resonates with certain people and we give out a few good tips per week. I was also thinking in terms of how degen has been for a long time and now will be changing. Thinking through it. What if (like degen for the last year) each of us was given 3 slugs equivalent to $5 each and we rewarded great content...not played tipping games. 🤷‍♂️ Just thinking out loud. Not drawing a line in the sand or anything.

Oh totally - it’s a complicated can of worms that has probably done more harm than good in terms of creating parasocial relationships based entirely on begging for money. The uneven playing surface is another factor that is barely discussed. $5 is nice but it doesn’t change my life or even buy me a cup of coffee in seattle but somewhere else, where cost of living is far lower, that $5 might feed a family of 4 all day. In terms of answers I don’t really have any but I do agree that earning a few penny’s here and there is pointless - maybe if there was an app that automatically converted to USDC and invested it using AI agent to compound but that’s another thing entirely. Sorry for the long meandering off the cuff reply 😂
