appreciation

I wrote “while in LA” in my previous cast as if my presence in LA were in the past tense. But I’m actually still at LAX, sitting inside a plane which should have landed in SF over an hour ago.

A series of misfortunate events occurred:

- First, the fire extinguisher on board needed to be replaced.

- After we got a new fire extinguisher, a flight attendant cut her finger in the galley and paramedics took her off the flight.

- After we got a new flight attendant and began taxiing, we received a new weather report from a very foggy SFO delaying our takeoff.

There aren’t any more flights on this airline back tonight, so there’s a chance I might be stuck in LA tonight. I think these events are happening because I drank the entirety of this “chocho superfood” Erewhon smoothie earlier. A cursed elixir brewed to trap tourists.

How do I reverse the curse?

Right after seeing my cast, @samantha sent me $10 for airplane snacks out of nowhere. How cute is she? As soon as she did this, my flight got ready for takeoff. She’s obviously magic.

I have never met Sam IRL, but I have observed her quiet, humble kindness countless times in the Farcaster community. She truly embodies the name of her brand - Humankind.

Love this! Sam really did nail the brand name. I could tag so many folks on here but @bradq is who comes to mind first. He always works to see the good in people and is fantastic at playing devils advocate for all the right reasons. He is the person I dc when I see someone on the timeline who could use some extra kindness and always comes through with incredibly kind and intentional comments, even if he doesn’t know the person well. He is also one of my personal go-tos when I need a vibe check or have a question I’m embarrassed to ask publicly. Farcaster wouldn’t be the same with out them!
