This time of year last year I was driving back and forth between Philly and New York every few days because my mom was in the hospital and fighting for her life. I am in such a different place this year (on so many levels), but I can close my eyes and remember exactly how I felt last year…

❤️ I really feel this, especially today on the anniversary of my dad's death. Being online, in my case, just writing and leaving comments open, really helped me.

💔 how many years has it been? How are you, today and in general? Im still pretty raw but slowly starting to believe it will feel differently some day I found it easier to talk about grief and loss with internet strangers than people IRL. And then those internet strangers became friends.🫶

17 years, but often feels much more recent. I'm ok. It will feel different. Grief is weird for sure. My only advice is to honor feelings as they come up as often as you can and don't feel bad about feeling ok when you do. Those moments will be more often over time. I'm sorry you're a member of the club.
