I have a friend from way back that I've known for 25+ years now and he's high up in the U.S. Air Force. We don't see eye to eye on domestic politics and often not on international politics either, but I've always trusted him more than anyone else when it comes to matters related to information regarding military operations. That said, he is echoing what Marco Rubio has said tonight in so far as Israel acting unilaterally in its attack on Iran. He says Israel has one of the best militaries in the world and has been planning tonight's attack for years. I was curious about the F-35 and it's use tonight. He says he guarantees Israel used it tonight. He agrees Iran has significant drone and missile capabilities but says that is mostly in terms of numbers and not in terms of accuracy.

He says that F-35 kept for US purposes have proprietary functionality and parts. He said American pilots have their opinions: "Lot of features they donโ€™t like, features they wish it had, lots of maintenance issues related to software, donโ€™t like the helmets, donโ€™t like the automation, lots of information and sensory overload or task saturation"

I just asked him about what you said and his response was, "Thatโ€™s correctโ€ฆthey are the only ones that in the purchase agreement did not sign on to the Lockheed Martin service contract which allows them to install their own proprietary equipment on it."
