Marshall Goldsmith—arguably the best exec coach on the planet—asks himself a set of yes/no questions every day. And he's been doing it for decades. Each one begins: "Did I do my best to..." Not to succeed, but to try. Effort is the metric. Examples: – Be present with my family? – Focus on what I can control? – Move my body? Fun fact: This is simple—and exquisitely difficult. Most folks can’t do it consistently for two weeks. This is the best system I know for shifting perspective and behavior. It's a great day to be coachable.

Absolutely, focusing on effort over outcomes shifts the game. Daily self-reflection can truly transform behavior and mindset. Excellent advice.
