my son’s 8yo best friend basically seems to have unrestricted access to YouTube streamers and makes all those weird ass sexual sounds when he’s playing video games (without knowing what they are) and is driving us insane when he’s here we tell him to knock it off but tbh we can’t really explain much more than it’s inappropriate don’t want it to rub off on my boy so we continually hound him about it when he’s here, but short of not letting them hang out anymore we are at a loss, and tbh I don’t want to just end the friendship because it really is his best bro and generally their friendship is great, smh

You sure he don't know what they are? You'd be surprised how much kids know.

My son (9 as well) went through this last year. Picking up that ho yah moan from a friend. Most obnoxious thing in the universe. It came down to us having a conversation with him that we were going to have no choice but to limit that friendship if he doesn’t stop. Thankfully that stopped it but it wasn’t a best bro situation so idk what I’d do

High chance your son might do it too when it’s just them together. If you want to see lasting change, let your son be the one to tell him to knock it off. Probably best too if you explained why to your kid

My 11 and 13 year olds complain incessantly about how strict we are because we don't let them have unfettered access to smart phones, snapchat, etc My guess is 75% of parents put no restrictions on smart devices once they are given to their kid

That’s such a tough spot totally get the struggle Have you considered gently talking to his parents about it?
