people you know irl simply can’t relate, and generally speaking won’t hide their disdain for something they missed out on

So true! And it’s also hilarious, I have online friends that I can safely send 3-4 figures back and forth between without worry, yet I’ve had IRL “friends” I’ve known for 20-30 years that I’ve lent money to that have flaked on me. My crypto friends have never though, go figure.
