i had an awesome debate just now with a couple of folks i consider š onchain investors (they're on farcaster, btw) crux of the debate was: do you think Farcaster's growth to 1M DAU will be because of onchain dynamics (economic incentives)? or in spite of it? i come down strongly on the side of "because of" wdyt?

did the current DAU on Farcaster join because: a) economic incentives or b) interest in another social media platform trend line there majority for the former if I had to put money down

At this point thereās very little doubt incentives played a major role in onboarding. The inspiring part though is how many people stayed. You can arrive for one reason and stay for another.ļæ¼ Itās not all about follows but for an artist trying to get eyes on their work, channels have been a game changer.

100% the early FIDs that were here before the economic incentives set the tone for the space with channels & frames couple that with ācome for the economic incentives & stay for the vibeā and youāre cooking with gas

Yea for me the true value became channels & the ability to access people that didnāt already follow me. I tested & documented the process via cross posting etc. On Twitter I struggle to break 300 impressions so didnāt have much to lose. Thankfully here things have been good. š ļæ¼
