Most of us grew up thinking the Sun is yellow... we colored it that way in school, saw it in cartoons, and even hear people describe it that way all the time. But hereâs the surprising truth... the Sun isnât yellow at all⊠itâs actually white. If you were to step outside Earthâs atmosphere... like an astronaut floating in space... youâd see the Sun shining bright, clean white light. No yellow, no orange, just pure white. The only reason it looks yellow or reddish from Earth is because our atmosphere scatters some of the light, especially the blue parts. What reaches our eyes is whatâs left over... mostly the longer wavelengths like red and yellow. Itâs kind of like nature using a filter on sunlight. So, yeah⊠the Sun is basically a giant, glowing white ball of nuclear energy... not a smiley yellow emoji in the sky. Just one of those things that feels small but kind of changes how you picture everything.
