Most of us grew up thinking the Sun is yellow... we colored it that way in school, saw it in cartoons, and even hear people describe it that way all the time. But here’s the surprising truth... the Sun isn’t yellow at all… it’s actually white. If you were to step outside Earth’s atmosphere... like an astronaut floating in space... you’d see the Sun shining bright, clean white light. No yellow, no orange, just pure white. The only reason it looks yellow or reddish from Earth is because our atmosphere scatters some of the light, especially the blue parts. What reaches our eyes is what’s left over... mostly the longer wavelengths like red and yellow. It’s kind of like nature using a filter on sunlight. So, yeah… the Sun is basically a giant, glowing white ball of nuclear energy... not a smiley yellow emoji in the sky. Just one of those things that feels small but kind of changes how you picture everything.
