Can't help but think that it is a brilliant play (by VCs) 🔥 Thinking Machines Lab closing a $2 billion seed round led by A16Z, is a great and safe bet. 

Yeah, the deal values the 6-month-old startup at $10 billion, which may look like a lot, but AI play is about "not letting one big player eat the lunch for everyone" - and even if Thinking Machines will fail, they'll get acquihired. 

And let's not forget that brilliant people should have a chance to do disproportionately large bets. OpenAI’s former chief technology officer Mira Murati, certainly fits that list.
