not sure how to say this, but how have dogs been at the top of the leaderboard (multiple times) and i’ve never once seen a nigerian caster break the top 10 despite having a lot of content and a lot of engagement? can someone make it make sense? gonna recast @afrochicks post in the thread below because it was on point 👇

do you have some specific nigerians in mind that have great content? it is worth noting that many people w/ good to great content don't sniff the top 30. It's really hard to get that high and is usually heavily made up of about 20-25 people.

best for who though brad? i know it’s not the best for me and a lot of other nigerians, do you speak for the whole farcaster or just the OGs or maybe your own demographic but i know for me and a lot more africans it’s not also nigerians with great content: @dummie.eth @ifeoluwafavour @farcasthoe @tophb the list can keep on going but their content isn’t great to you because you don’t understand them

I have to agree I love that bert came on with the notion that he’s a dog and all, fun and cool Bro just scroll through the profile and look at all the cast, i mean, would you put that cast in the same league as @afrochicks ?? It’s not even close I understand small amount of followers get more boosts, cool with it, but check out what they’ve been doing to us

I appreciate the discussion here! And I don't want to sound snotty about it, but I do think, in terms of casting a lot of original content, @afrochicks and I are kind of in the same league. Our content appeals to different audiences because it's different, like she is doing amazing things with mini apps and onboarding, but I think having lots of accounts creating different content is the beauty of Farcaster and being able to choose who you follow. Also, just for clarification, accounts with small amounts of followers don't get a boost. The Rewards point system is just scaled for how many followers you have, so that the 100K+ accounts don't win every week just because they have a bigger reach and can get more engagement.

That’s fair, and I really respect the work you’re doing — happy to see you making an impact. That said, I feel like we’re just reacting to what we’ve experienced ourselves. When we were at the top of the leaderboard, we faced complaints, and without much explanation, our points were frozen. This is now the second week in a row it’s happening to me. It seems our content doesn’t resonate with a certain group of people. After one random complaint about a certain group of people (mostly Africans) being on top, @v froze everyone’s points and marked our content as spam, likely because he didn’t fully understand it. I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but it’s hard not to see that as discriminatory. he used the term new accounts but my account would hit a year on farcaster by next month (i’m currently in spam rn because of this)

Cool Not exactly a boost but smaller followers actually rack up faster, if not, a lot of us would be up there😅 Also, the more your followers, the more points you can give, the only exemption are people on the team like Ted, so if top people engage too, you get bigger points
