Anatomy of a load. 200-250lbs of gear and food, bear boxes to keep that food un-eaten by bears, ropes, tarps, elaborate and specific knots. A load can ride 25 miles on rough trail if packed properly. There was a full sweet potato pie, a $200 bottle of scotch, and 2 personal-sized watermelons in this load.

How long are most of your trips? Days and miles.

3-30 days, but most of my trips are in the 5-10 day range. ~ 5-15 miles/day. We also do a lot of base camps, where guests can hike however many miles they want each day and return to camp for dinner. Nice to not have to set up and break down camp, and you can hike big miles with just a daypack.
