My initial findings in South Africa:
-Eggs in the grocery store aren’t refrigerated bc they’re not washed like in the US
-Ostrich & venison meat are common grocery store items
-You can’t find brewed coffee in bottles, only powdered (what’s a girl gotta do for some cold brew 🙂‍↕️)

Wait eggs are refrigerated because they’re washed??

Yess I was also today years old when I found this out!! It’s bc washing removes the egg’s natural protective layer which makes it more susceptible to bacterial contamination 😱

That’s also the most American thing ever, to wash it trying to clean it but really making it more likely to have bacteria 🤦🏻‍♂️
