I just got off the waitlist, it looked like a scam email but I yolo’ed and it was real

I feel like im crazy. but i got the same email. tried to join the beta, it prompted me to create a new basename. but I already have one, and when you click that link that you already have one. it just sends you to documentation on how to transfer ownership. 

My question: to use the beta, do i need to create a new basename? can i not just use the one I already have

its ironicially not very intuitive imo
