yesterday i was too soon and too late to see them lift the diner car that’s been on wythe and n 3rd since 1968 was glad as i was able to catch it being hauled away even if i didn’t see it suspended in the air first pic: right at setup second pic: diner car driving away

it’s crazy when you leave new york to go someplace and you open google maps and be like, ok that should be a 15 min walk, and then you hit the directions button and it says it’s actually 3.3 miles

just made creamy mashed potatoes for the first time in years (have generally made fluffy russet kinds) HOLY SHIT they’re basically just butter and cream held together with a bit of boiled potato passed through a ricer ended up chickening out and not adding all the milk/cream from the recipe
