on this note, I just read an update on lisbon airport queues (which btw were in my way to get to Patagonia last month and made me skip the line agressively) "The Infrastructure minister has admitted long lines at Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport are causing the country “reputational damage”, Expresso reports. Pinto Luz said more police and more capacity on the ground were needed to solve the problems associated with the introduction of the new more stringent European Entry/Exit System for non-EU citizens entering the Schengen zone. A task force has been created to tackle the issues, as the Infrastructure and home affairs ministries put the pressure on to keep as many Public Security Police officers as possible working at the airport during peak times, along with the maximum number of e-gates. Groups linked to tourism and airlines have voiced their concerns with the long delays, with the Portuguese Hotels Association going as far as to warn of possible “collapse”." This is how european government deals with issues... A task force, to put pressure... on public security police workers... One day they may learn that tackling issues this way is causing reputation damage too
