Is your attestation sound? An attestation can be valid without being true. Mistaking one for the other can lead to flawed trust assumptions. When building on attestations, ask yourself. "Is this attestation sound, or just valid?"

What is the definition of valid vs sound?

Valid + True = Sound Valid = math checks out (signature/proof verify) True = data reflects reality / consensus (sky is blue) You can have something signed that is valid, but the underlying data might not be true. So understanding the trust assumptions of what makes the data "true" is as important as it is "valid".

Makes complete sense. I was chatting with EAS at ETH Denver about decentralized "Attestors" - a network of nodes that come to consensus and sign as a group
