First AR15 build is 99% complete, just need to add my Streamlight w/ pressure switch. Being in NY, obtaining an AR is cumbersome - most pre-built options are not compliant with state laws. In order to be compliant I built a "featureless" AR which is the only way to have a removable magazine - imperative for self-defense application. Who wants to be stuck disassembling the upper from lower and releasing the mag to reload while asking the intruder/attacker to hold on a min LOL. Still need to zero the optic, looking forward to when I've got time to go to the rifle range at the club. I learned quite a bit during this process, and it's true - building AR's is pretty much like Legos for adults 😆

This looks really cool , to make your own one... this is one thing you can do in the US but not in most of other countries

I always forget that this is not in many other countries. I believe everyone that's of sound mind should be able to.
