Woohoo, this is officially my first science post from Base!!๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽ‰ Today, I talk about how scientists and architects are developing seawalls panels inspired my mangrove roots that can provide shelter to fish in manmade waterways!! What an awesome use of technology to help wildlife!! Thanks for watching!! Newt :)

I think there would be better ways to redirect the currents and cause pools of stagnancy. Mangroves are too demanding of oxygen to go very far. . If barrier Islands were shapes differently and had jetties on the outside of the island instead of on the inside to protect the waterway walls do something?

To clarify, they arenโ€™t planting mangroves next to the seawalls. Theyโ€™re putting panels that were inspired by the shape of mangroves roots onto the existing seawalls. Not sure what you mean about the barrier islands though

I've been having one of those days where your friends and you can't stop debating each other. lol. Yeah I commented before I watched it all the way. But I do have a concern mostly for my family in Southern Florida for something better to protect against the hurricane storm wall. I'm glad you're here on FC.
