Woohoo, this is officially my first science post from Base!!π₯³π Today, I talk about how scientists and architects are developing seawalls panels inspired my mangrove roots that can provide shelter to fish in manmade waterways!! I think there would be better ways to redirect the currents and cause pools of stagnancy. Mangroves are too demanding of oxygen to go very far. . If barrier Islands were shapes differently and had jetties on the outside of the island instead of on the inside to protect the waterway walls do something?

To clarify, they arenβt planting mangroves next to the seawalls. Theyβre putting panels that were inspired by the shape of mangroves roots onto the existing seawalls. Not sure what you mean about the barrier islands though
