Since time immemorial, bankrupt states (and their unfortunate citizens) have had a desperate appetite for hard currency.

Historically, that’s meant gold, or stable foreign fiat. If cryptocurrency is auditioning for that role, it’s going to need to prove itself truly seizure-resistant.

That means OS resistance.

Why do you need a crypto-specific os to prevent this? Why not just use  linux to ensure privacy?

Yes, we need something like ethOS, Solana phone, or Qubes. Maybe an Urbit box.

We also need to move enough funds on there in a relatively short time to make seizure unattractive.

The solution is walking the path between boot licking the state and crypto anarchy that doesn‘t upset those in power. That‘s the solution and it always has been. But there are many people who are greedy and willing to freeride this delicately created balance of us purists

Things that need to be the default in crpyto:
1. Open source software
2. Airgapped hardware wallets

These are both necessary (but not sufficient) to maintain a reasonable amount of safety from backdoors.

funny then that you also say we‘re going to have Bitcoinization in the short term. You may be good at the macro, but to anyone good at the micro it isn‘t a surprise that OS providers or any other service providers could shut stuff down any time. I think apple is trying to tackle a problem which significantly causes harm to too many people in the best way possible they can. What's the issue here?
