Today, weโ€™re learning about the toxic methylmercury in fish that we eat! Itโ€™s important to not eat too much, especially if youโ€™re pregnant, to prevent cognitive defects and immune systems issues. It occurs with processes called biomagnification and bioaccumulation absorbing the toxin into fatty tissues. Thanks!!

Really eye-opening! I didnโ€™t realize how serious methylmercury could be. The fact that it builds up through bioaccumulation makes it even more concerning. Have any guidelines been set on how often we should eat fish safely?
