It was Bernie leading the charge I believe, but I can't see Congress doing anything to stop Trump from doing what he wants with the military right now. Pretty sure "national security" comes before legislation.

It’s also a shame that we’ve strayed so far from Article I Section 8 where the president can just do whatever they feel is in the name of National Security

War Powers Resolution (1973): The War Powers Resolution requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing U.S. forces to military action. After that, the president can continue military operations for up to 60 days, with an additional 30 days allowed for withdrawal, unless Congress grants authorization or declares war. Without congressional approval, U.S. forces must be withdrawn after this period.
