I’ve read this around my FB feed. As a runner, I have a strong opinion loosely held: for me it’s much easier to do a sub20 5K. Considering the fact that I’m a complete beginner in the lifting sector but quite experienced into running. But I remember the sense of achievement the first time I went sub20. Maybe one day I will feel the same benching 100 kg. I want to know your opinion on that. In the OP comments it seems that most agreed on this and a good part said 335 lb (150 kg) was more accurate. What’s your take?

I can lift 225 pounds, but I can't run sub 20 5k. In the shape I'm in at the moment I think I'd do a 5k in 30mins.

I'm around 110 kgs at the moment (still more like a triangle than a pyramid lol), my rugby playing weight when I quit was around 90kgs. Covid hasn't been kind to me, or having kids haha. I am trying to shift it though.

I’m very skinny. 65 kg. I was 60 last November after a long running training period to do a sub84 half marathon. This is why a started lifting this year. I’m too thin and I think 100kg bench for me will remain a mirage forever. I’ll be satisfied I I can bench 70/75kg

Just keep at it is all I can say, I’m 40 now so no longer lift for as much as I can, I just pick a weight I get to and stick with it and go for volume. Before kids me and the mrs used to do a lot of 10ks . Furthest I’ve ever ran is around 14kms. But I did it more to supplement the rugby. Back in 2020 I did the starva 100kms in a month challenge, did it but gave myself shinsplints 😂
