Japanese curry is one of those things that when done right is one of my favorite dishes. Unfortunately outside of Japan most Japanese curry is made from a boxand are underwhelming. Tonight I checkd out Curry Hyuga which has a few Bay Area locations and is always packed for good reason. After a 45min wait we ordered and were quickly served some amazing Japanese curry with crispy potato croquette and karaage chicken topped with a runny egg and seeved with pickles and coleslaw. Finished off the night with a exceptional Mango Pomelo Saga from Hui Lau Shan which hit the spot after dinner and could have warranted its own post. Love how there are shopping centers packed with people in the Bay Area there for one reason, good food. This didn’t exist 10 years ago but I’m here for it.

Looks banging! Have you tried Volcano curry in SF? It's not fancy but it's not bad either 😁 one of my fav lunch spots, and it's near the columbarium which is cool to check out.

Curry Hyuga is my favorite. The little potato salad is a nice touch. Did you go to the one in Cupertino? My ritual is: Hyuga followed by Izumi Matcha in that shopping center.
