Sam (crazy candle person) ✦

One new communication skill I’ve learned is to just give a customer one question or answer at a time. Early in my candle career I think I over explained shipping options and it overwhelmed that lead, so they didn’t end up responding. Now I try my best to just do one q at a time, and let the customer lead the conversation!

In my experience as a salesman, tbh a customer already knows if he’d buy a product or not before he even approaches you and I feel like the more you try to explain everything that surrounds your product the more he’d start doubting and weighing his positions It’s always just better to have them dictate the direction of the conversation from the beginning, if they’re doing all the talking you get more information from what they say about how to convince them to get the product
