With all the weirdness going on, I think that it’s a still a time to reply, but I would keep it close with people you follow and who follow you back or uplifting communities (like /success ) who are very friendly and open to new folks. I don’t think this is the right time to cold engage with accounts that don’t follow you. I’d wait a few weeks until the dust settles. The spam label sucks. It’s detrimental to your experience here. If you don’t have the patience to wait, buy FarCards and Hypersubs with gated chats. Hack your way into new groups. But cold replies that aren’t worth their weight in gold will probably been seen in poor light right now.

I host a lot of audio spaces and I can hear the frustration and confusion in people’s voices. There’s very little guidance around this stuff and people are looking for tactical and actionable feedback rather than “don’t be spammy” so I’m trying to put out some of the things I’m doing to hope it helps others. And to let people know that a lot of people are feeling unsure right now. But this too shall pass.
