Ayuba Tense Leaving Kirikiri Prison for Execution at Bar Beach, Lagos🇳🇬 In 1976, after a failed coup that led to the assassination of Nigeria’s Head of State, General Murtala Ramat Muhammed, the military government under General Olusegun Obasanjo launched an investigation. Several people found guilty of involvement were tried and executed. On March 11, 1976, the following individuals were executed: 1. Major General Iliya D. Bisalla -Commissioner of Defence 2. Lt. Colonel A.R. Aliyu 3. Lt. Colonel Ayuba Tense 4. Lt. Colonel T.K. Adamu 5. Lt. Colonel A.B. Umaru 6. Colonel A.D.S. Way 7. Major M.M. Mshelia 8. Major I.B. Ribo 9. Major K.K. Gagra 10. Major J.W. Kasai 11. Major Ola Ogunmekan 12. Captain M. Parwang 13. Captain J.F. Idi 14. Captain S. Wakins 15. Captain A.A. Aliyu 16. Captain Augustine Dawurang 17. Captain M.R. Gelip 18.
