At 40, Franz Kafka (1883-1924), who never married and had no children, walked through the park in Berlin when he met a girl who was crying because she had lost her favourite doll. She and Kafka searched for the doll unsuccessfully. Kafka told her to meet him there the next day and they would come back to look for her. The next day, when they had not yet found the doll, Kafka gave the girl a letter "written" by the doll saying "please don't cry. I took a trip to see the world. I will write to you about my adventures." Thus began a story which continued until the end of Kafka's life. During their meetings, Kafka read the letters of the doll carefully written with adventures and conversations that the girl found adorable. Finally, Kafka brought back the doll (he bought one) that had returned to Berlin. "It doesn't look like my doll at all," said the girl.

💭 “I don’t particularly like women who’ve been with many men.” I’m not naive — I understand people have their stories. But there’s something about a certain kind of purity that draws me in. Not the kind you can measure, but the kind you can feel. It’s in the way she looks at you. In the softness of her words. In the way her hand doesn’t just touch — it speaks. There’s a difference in a woman who has chosen carefully. It shows in her walk, her laughter, her stillness. It’s not about numbers. It’s about how much of herself she’s allowed the world to wear down. I’m not asking for virginity. I’m drawn to those who still carry tenderness — not scars from trying to prove themselves to the wrong men. Some women seem to choose their next man out of revenge, not love. And you can feel that too. – Inspired by Charles Bukowski

It was the loudest sound Earth has ever made — and it nearly tore the planet apart. On August 27, 1883, the island of Krakatoa in Indonesia exploded with a force so massive, it blew itself to pieces. The blast was heard over 3,000 miles away — across oceans, across continents. Sailors in the Indian Ocean went deaf. In western Australia, people thought they were under attack. In South Africa, the sea surged violently, rocking ships that had no idea a volcano was to blame. The sky turned black. The sea rose up. Tsunamis as tall as a 15-story building crashed into coastlines. Entire villages vanished. Over 36,000 lives were lost — some in seconds. One British ship captain, just 40 miles from the blast, wrote before vanishing: “My last thoughts are with my dear wife. I am convinced the Day of Judgement has come.” But the shock didn’t stop there. Ash circled the globe, turning sunsets blood red.

“A harmless man is not a good man. A good man is a dangerous man who holds his violence under control.” There’s a truth in this that runs deep in the bones of a Heathen. To be dangerous isn’t about cruelty or chaos. It’s about power—held, but not flaunted. It’s about having the strength to destroy and the wisdom to choose not to—until the moment demands it. Modern Heathenry has lost some of that edge. Somewhere along the way, the warrior heart was buried beneath peace signs and platitudes. There’s nothing wrong with community and growth—but when it comes at the cost of our fire, when it dulls the blade we once carried with pride, something vital is lost. We are children of balance. The old gods didn’t walk around preaching softness. They taught struggle, loyalty, oaths kept, and vengeance when wronged. Like Fenrir, we are not wrong for having teeth. We are wrong only when we forget how to use them.
