We kicked off summer with a full-body souvenir from nature—some lovely poison ivy. I couldn’t relax until I played detective and found the leafy little menace lurking on our favorite trail.

Moral of the story: nature bites… so keep your eyes peeled on those walks. 🌿😬

😳😳😳 I don't even know what poison ivy looks like, but probably should. I must say, the only time i see anyone (thought  the years) posting about this, they are all based in Austin. Do they grow in higher concentration there, or what is the reason?

I figured. I am surprised that we never got it, even so I am very outdoorsy. I almost wonder if this issue became worse. Often, when ecology is in trouble and the symbiotic relationship in nature is disturbed, certain species take over. But before we blame Poison Ivy, when one digs deeper there is always some explanation how its this exact specie that restores the soil etc...Its never random.

Yes, it’s everywhere. On trails in public parks, greenbelts etc, even in green area in neighborhood playgrounds, which is my biggest nightmare, because the kids love going through the brush and not on marked trails - and even on those they can flank the trails.
