As more of the US loses its ability to sustain a hard freeze during winters, we'll start to see 2nd order effects of global warming like this: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jun/29/lone-star-ticks-increase-climate-crisis

so true and we’re seeing it :( here it’s the Great Salt Lake collapsing which means a wall of toxic dust covers the valley and so much more

Oof yeah -- SLC is going to get hit hard :( Do you plan on staying there or do you think you'll end up a climate migrant?

It really is and it’s so hard to watch. Probably will end up having to leave. We sold our house years ago and traveled to find a new place to land. Quickly learned that it’s a “pick your poison” scenario wrt climate change. We get really sick when the air gets bad and it’s only getting worse. Also they keep changing the scale with what’s considered safe. I have screenshots from 2016 that were high red aqi and now it’s considered green 😭

Yeah every place is going to get hit hard in its own way I left California due to the wildfire smoke — I couldn’t feel well inhaling bad air But yeah, the powers that be are limiting or distorting our information so that we cannot effectively track the change. The intuition still knows though I have some theories about the best places to go in the USA, happy to share if and when the time comes for you all to move

Smart move, hoping you have clean air now! Intuition is truly the golden key. I’d love to know your theories. I burned myself out a bit on the topic with information overload, but have some bookmarks and theories. Would be nice to compare!
