Tech, as an industry, conflates two things:
1) being the eminent industry of our time
2) being the smartest

#1 confers power, not intelligence. Also why most people dislike the tech elite nowadays -- tech is long done being the underdog. Now, it's the world's most powerful trotting around fanciful ideas about God
