No, you don't need to put in a lot of effort. That's the whole point! 1. "Y Combinator is about putting a relatively small amount of the right effort in the right place to get a decent result." That's how Paul Graham answered the question of how YC graduates manage to create something worthwhile in just 3 months of acceleration. 2. By and large, this is the main task of any startup - to find either the right place or the right approach, but so that small efforts bring a disproportionately large result. And at any stage! 3. At the early stages - this is the reason why people want to invest in a startup. After all, if a relatively small amount of effort brought a decent result - it means that if you invest millions here, the result will be simply awesome 😉
