How does one measure the weight of grief? How does one gauge its depth? Do the narrow, forcefully joyful alleys of our 'normal' lives allow sorrow to walk its mournful path? And, If your loss doesn’t rank high on life’s grand scale of misfortunes—death, illness, loss—does it have the right to exist in the open?

The only one that can measure grief is the griever! Grief is an individual affair that can be acknowledged but cannot be evaluated by others. Nobody has the authority or the power to allow or deny grief the freedom to exist either openly or privately. 

Grief exists by itself because it's an emotion of the soul, not of the self; the only measure we have is our sense of the weight of the boulder that is crushing our being. It's subjective, but it can't be any other way. How Angelika depicted that in the below picture is breathtaking!
