“Users don’t care about X decentralization or Y security or Z privacy feature!!” 

Right. Like they don’t care if their computer’s kernel is secure. They don’t care until something goes wrong. It’s our job to care for them.

I drive a car but know zero about car maintenance or how they work at a detailed level. TBH I don’t care.

I’ll buy a car, get it maintained when it needs to be, then drive till it’s dead.

BUT if I buy a new car and all the wheel nuts haven’t been screwed on tightly, you’re damn right I’m going to care…

… and so will everyone I know because word of mouth spreads like wildfire, which leads to less customers because they’re uncertain about your product and know of users who have had bad experiences.

Build something to delight, but at the same time, build it right.
