Sitting at the Molecular Programming 10-Year Flightplan Conference. We're talking about how we could get to the point where programming matter becomes commonplace. A vision so enormously transformative I don't think anyone can fully fathom what it would imply. Then I see a notification on my phone about 'content coins' or something and it just makes me in equal parts dismayed and motivated. The opportunity cost of our attention and capital misallocation is really staggering if you think about it too much. Things that are so ephemeral and flimsy they barely meet the designation of vapourware are sitting on billions maybe trillions in value. Meanwhile genuinely transformative research work that could fundamentally restructure (literally) everything operate on fractional budgets. I do think there will be a tipping points where capital will naturally start to flow toward substance. We need more bridges between researchers and allocators, more stories about what becomes possible when we fund things that matter. When that connection happens, we unlock futures where programming matter is as routine as programming software.

The irony of me clicking ‘notify when available’ to bid for this cast.. 😂 All jokes aside I totally agree - I can’t wait till more capital is allocated towards these problems. I think we are already starting to see a shift but it may just be the circles I am in.

The echo chamber. Where the one I'm in almost makes me believe that people care about women in web3. 🫠
