An issue with Farcaster is that it’s a lot of tech-brained people’s first time running a big account Take @alexpaden as a random example — 40k followers on Farcaster but only 200 on X Ppeople aren’t used to actual poasting, only this odd LinkedIn-esque subculture (Note: I love Farcaster + all of you here)

that's a new twitter account that i don't use lol i started dealing in social handles at like 16. and my followers here are mostly inactive/bots. i prefer people posting technical stuff and it's hard to do well

You're like me haha, i did my time hustling on OGU and similar forums I think you can do well posting technical content on Twitter! Even anonymously if you look at Gwern — you just have to grind through the no/low engagement and replyguy around

> Twitter is spent Maybe building on their API, sure, but the platform is very much still alive and it’s disingenuous to act like it isn’t

It’s still in the top 15 of the largest social platforms in the world lmao Sure it’s “old” but Facebook is older and is still the biggest social platform, age is irrelevant imo if the platforms keep up
