i built in Minecraft today and i learned from a 10yo named Billy and i loved it.

Billy is fully fluent in Minecraft. watching him play reminded me of how back in 2009 i could use an iPhone 1000x better than my parents.

btw i totally underestimated the complex long-term planning Minecraft requires to world build.

you can build functional computers in minecraft with redstone, and mods like greg tech enable real-world material science/manufacturing (chips rockets etc).. insane game.

that is… insane to grok for someone who played sims and roller coaster tycoon growing up. i wonder how 11 year old me would’ve done with this level of programmability. 

minecraft is so fucking cool i understand why people get nerdsniped by it.
