Finally updated my personal site. Ended up going with a Rust SSG called Zola.

It’s a single binary, “Just Works,” and is super fast to deploy.

I used to use NextJS but a workflow package was deprecated, which finally pushed me over the edge to go zero dependencies forever.

I went on a similar quest recently but couldn’t find an SSG I liked so I wrote my whole site in a single file lol. I’ll have to check out Zola

Yeah the older I get the less I need to get going.

You add themes by adding the repo as a submodule. Config files drive layouts. Super clean.
