i've always liked these rough frameworks prior managers taught me early on 1) if you do something at work, would you feel okay if it were on the front page of WSJ? 2) if you're expensing an item, would you feel okay if you went in front of the entire company and told them?

One of my favorites: Don’t go down alone. Meaning, It’s ok to fail, it’s not ok if you don’t ask for help along the way
