Hacker burns $90 million stolen from Iran’s largest crypto exchange!

Nobitex – the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Iran was just hacked, losing over $90 million from its hot wallets. 

The hacker group Predatory Sparrow (allegedly linked to Israel) claimed responsibility, stating that they targeted Nobitex due to suspicions the platform was helping the Iranian government finance itself and evade sanctions.

What’s particularly striking is that most of the stolen crypto was “burned”  sent to inaccessible wallets, effectively removing the funds from circulation entirely.

The incident comes amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, highlighting how cyber warfare is now spilling over into both DeFi and CeFi.

With over 10 million users, Nobitex going down could trigger a domino effect across Iran’s crypto ecosystem. This wasn’t just a hack  it resembled a politically motivated sabotage attack.
