Stories unite us -- they give us shared narratives that make reality and its infinite mysteries coherent

So what happens when AI gives everyone on-demand stories uniquely tailored to them?

We lose the last shared fabric. Then we will reinvent bards / storytellers once again (but not before a period of great incoherence)

Agree about the power of stroytelling, but this also assumes that everyone will use AI for this purpose. 
Cultural storytelling still has a strong bulwark against those trying to repurpose it, even though it does eventually get reinterpreted through modern day filters.
