I am pro-AI, but most people on Facebook and Threads are not, so I'm getting a firsthand look at how people who claim to be better about misinformation than the right-wing are spreading a whole lot of misinformation about AI.  

They do the same thing with crypto.

Kneejerk reactions that keep them from embracing technologies that could actually bring about the liberation they claim to want to achieve.

People are quick to conflate loud voices for their own critical thinking. Works enough of the time where you can change the narrative in the process.
First thing I say to people who are anti-AI is if they use YouTube or Gmail. Naturally, they’ll say yes to one of those. Then I show them how much energy google data centres use. Perspective is key. I don’t intend to change their mind, but rather get them to acknowledge their blind spots.
